We live in a society and behaviour in that society is governed by laws, we can choose to ignore those laws and we will be punished by society for our actions. If we don't agree with the laws, there exist mechanisms for us to campaign for the laws to be changed, those very mechanisms are in turn governed other laws.
The rule of law is the very basis of our society. If there is no rule of law there is anarchy, disorder and abuse of power. To understand the law allows us to make rational decisions about our actions.
The purpose of this web page is to try and make some legal resources more available to people. It is very much concerned with the situation here in Australia and also with laws regarding computing & the internet, an area that I work in, and have a significant concern about. I make no appology for this.
